Facial plastic surgeons agree that both a rhinoplasty and/or a chin implant can create some of the most profound and dramatic changes in a person’s appearance. Because the chin is the foundation on which all other facial features rest, it determines the facial symmetry and balance for the entire face. For example, if a person has a weak chin, it can result in their nose looking too large and out of proportion. After receiving chin implant surgery, that same nose may appear in perfect balance as a central feature. A pointed chin that projects too far can make a person look older than they are and make all other features appear to be receding. After a properly sized chin is inserted, facial symmetry is achieved, and features no longer appear receded. This results in a better, more balanced overall appearance.
