Meet Dr. Iryna Aleksandrova, who has been practicing medicine for 20 years and is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. Her love for creativity and visual aesthetics took her practice partly into the cosmetic medicine field. She is fully trained in cosmetic injectable procedures. She also specializes in anesthesiology, which means that you can trust her honed skills to deliver comfort and safety during your injectable procedure. Dr. Iryna has privileges at Humber River Hospital and can speak several languages, including Hebrew, Russian, and Ukrainian.

Questions For Dr. Iryna Aleksandrova

What led you to choose this location and partnership in Toronto with Dr. Torgerson?

I have worked with Dr. Torgerson for a few years as an anesthesiologist. I know him as an outstanding surgeon, who is very meticulous and artistic in his work, attentive to his patients and also an erudite in many fields. Having worked in many plastic surgery clinics in Toronto, I can say that his clinic is one of the most organized and with the most advanced equipment and technologies. Dr. Cory was the one who at some point, knowing my passion for art and my great skills with all kind of injections inspired me to combine them in cosmetic injectable treatment. He is a gem and I’m honored to be a part of his team.

How do you view the medical aesthetics industry in this region of the world, and where do you see it headed?

Medicine works hard to prolong our lives, fighting all types of diseases. Aesthetic medicine is part of that fight and it is here to prolong our youthful look and make us feel better about ourselves and be comfortable with the aging process. However, one should always remember, that it is Medicine and therefore should be performed by trained professionals only. Despite the fact, that surgical and non-surgical Cosmetic procedures are highly regulated in Canada, there are a lot of illegal practices in this area. Put your safety first and do your research before you decide where to go for your surgery, dermal fillers or neuromodulators injections.

Do you have a favourite treatment?

I enjoy every type of treatment however, my favorite one is the correction of under eye hollows. It definitely makes the most dramatic improvement in a patient’s appearance with a minimum of down time. It is also one of the most challenging types of injectable procedures and I love challenging myself. It is a very meticulous job and takes a skilled person to get a great result!

What would you like patients to know about their treatment experience with you?

Additionally, to all my medical qualifications and skills, I have studied at a School of Art with a passion in painting and sculpture. I approach every patient not only as a physician, but also as an artist who is creating a masterpiece. I have learned the proportions of a beautiful face in art and life and apply all my knowledge and skills in the art of dermal fillers treatment. I always listen to my patient’s desires and discuss in detail the intended plan by using drawings of the proposed procedure.
