Why Choose Brow Lift Treatment?
Facial wrinkles and sagging skin have become synonymous with the advent of time and the process of aging.
Although they can be expected, some people display wrinkles at a much earlier age than others. Genetics, the thickness of our skin, and lifestyle choices such as smoking are all factors that determine when our faces begin to age. It’s possible for one area of the face to show signs of aging long before another area. For instance, one person’s forehead may remain smooth while another person of the same age may already have deep, horizontal lines across their brow.

Creases across a person’s forehead can cause them to look extremely tired, overly serious, or even angry. This may be why these furrows have been called frown lines. Neuromodulator injections are an excellent method for minimizing these lines and creating a smooth-looking forehead, but they are only temporary solutions. To maintain a wrinkle-free brow, the injections must be repeated. A browlift, sometimes called a forehead lift, is the perfect solution for anyone concerned with the amount of creases or the depth of the wrinkles they have. Surgery is not only a more preferable way of addressing forehead lines, but may also be the only way to deal with them if they are quite deep.

A brow lift can also help lift a heavy brow to open up the face and the eye area. A brow lift accomplishes several things. It not only reduces the horizontal lines across the forehead, it can also improve the vertical creases between the eyebrows. These are known as glabellar wrinkles. A brow lift also raises sagging eyebrows and brightens the look of the upper eyelids. When eyebrows are lifted into their normal position, the person looks more youthful and alert, thus doing away with the continual tired look. Brow lift surgery produces dramatic results and can rejuvenate the overall appearance of the entire face.
It’s necessary to be under general anaesthesia for this 90-minute surgery. Small incisions are hidden around the hairline so that Dr. Torgerson can enter to tighten the muscles and adjust the tissues. Sutures are used during the healing process and are removed after 1 week. To minimize swelling, Dr. Torgerson may recommend a head bandage. This ensures that during the initial healing process, the forehead is held securely in its new position.
After Brow Lift Treatment
Antibiotics and pain medication will be prescribed to make sure you are as comfortable as possible and to guard against the risk of infection. It is important that the head remains elevated, even while sleeping, so that too much blood pressure is not placed on the new incisions. A forehead lift requires at least 1 to 2 weeks of downtime to heal properly, but the recipient can expect their new brow to feel tight for several months afterwards.
If you are concerned with the amount of furrows in your forehead or with a heavy-looking brow and tired eyes, a private consultation at Dr. Cory Torgerson’s Toronto plastic surgery centre will allow you to view before and after photos of his previous brow lift clients as well as establish a personalized plan of action for you.
