What Is A Toronto Facelift?

A facelift, or rhytidectomy, is an elective facial cosmetic surgery procedure that targets a number of common signs of aging in the face. Over time, as a result of various factors including genetics, sun exposure, stress, gravity, and a loss of elasticity, the skin on the face begins to change. Skin that was once smooth and plump begins to sag, often resulting in the development of jowls or a double chin. In addition, fine lines and wrinkles begin to develop, causing creases in the face which become more pronounced with time. Although these changes are natural, most of us want to take steps to delay or even reverse these telltale signs of aging.

On average, a Toronto face-lift costs anywhere from $13,500 to $22,000. (Note that prices are subject to change over time.) The large range in prices is a result of the fact that there are many different types of face lifts, including the full facelift, mini facelift, mid-facelift, and lower facelift. During your initial consultation, Dr. Torgerson will listen to your goals for the procedure and evaluate your facial anatomy to determine which procedure or combination of procedures is right for you.
Mini facelift:
A mini face lift is a less invasive option that is best suited to patients who have very little loose skin in the cheeks and jowls. It effectively tightens the skin but does not tighten the underlying facial tissue.

What Is Included In The Cost?

Types of Facelift

Full facelift:
As its name implies, a full facelift is a procedure designed to treat the entire face. As such, it is able to combat a number of issues, including sagging cheeks and jowls, while also tightening the underlying facial muscles to deliver long-lasting results. In most cases, the incisions are made in the creases behind the ears to ensure that any resulting scarring is as inconspicuous as possible. Depending on the patient’s needs, additional incisions may also be made along the hairline or underneath the chin. Since this procedure is the most extensive facelift option, it is also the most expensive procedure.

Mid facelift:
A mid face-lift or cheek lift, is a facelift procedure that addresses the center of the face, from the corners of the eyes to the sides of the mouth. It often focuses on the nasolabial folds, which span from the nostrils to the corners of the mouth. Mid face lifts can also correct sagging tissue in the mid-face.

Lower facelift:
Although a lower facelift addresses tissues in the lower face, it requires making incisions in the upper face, typically in the hairline or around the ears, to pull the tissues in the jowls and neck upwards, thus restoring a more youthful appearance to the jaw line.

The cost of a Toronto facelift is all-inclusive, which means that it covers the surgeon’s fees, facility fees, and cost of anaesthesia as well as all pre- and post-operative appointments.
