You are safe to fly as soon as the day after surgery. However, we recommend our patients wait until they’ve had their post-op stitch removal appointment before travelling. Keep in mind that the altitude may temporarily increase your swelling.
To minimize swelling and bruising after surgery, consider taking bromelain supplements and using arnica montana (gel or tablets) after consulting your Surgeon. Apply cold compresses for the first 48 hours, keep the area elevated, and stay hydrated. Avoid blood thinners like aspirin unless advised by your healthcare provider. Always check with your Surgeon for personalized recommendations.
